Ryan's teaching qualifications include:

-Drumming since 1996

-B.A. in Music with Honors from University of Colorado at Boulder

-Studied with world-renowned percussionist Dr. Douglas Walter

-Recorded an album and toured extensively while signed to the UK based label Candlelight Records

-Taught the percussion section at Crested Butte Middle School in Crested Butte, Colorado

-Taught drum set at Louisville Middle School in Louisville, Colorado.

-Currently on the teaching faculty at Noisy Neighbor Music in Lynden, Washington

-Currently teaching drumming independently to kids and adults from all over Northwest Washington

-Coached pole vaulting at the high school level in Colorado and Washington

-Taught driving skills to teens and adults at MasterDrive in Colorado

Option A:

Ryan will travel to you for private instruction on your own gear, provided that you live within a roughly 30 minute driving radius of Bellingham, WA

Option B:

You can take lessons in Ryan's home on his gear in Bellingham, WA

Option C:

You can sign up for lessons in Ryan's dual-drum-set-equipped studio at Noisy Neighbor Music Store in Lynden, WA

Lessons from Ryan can include reading music, music theory, concert snare or rudimental snare including german grip, french grip, matched grip, or traditional grip, drum set, double pedal/double kick/double bass, auxilliary percussion techniques, hand and finger exercises including flying fingers, freehand technique, gravity blast, moeller technique, hybrid technique, foot and ankle exercises including heel up, heel down, and floating techniques, coordination, playing by ear, various musical styles, general groove and musicality, or essentially anything else you want to know. Even how to set up and maintain your instrument, or how to prepare for a gig. Lessons are customized to your individual goals and the curiculum is personalized for every student.
